Role Description and Requirements
Choose any roles you are interested in. Please read the following role descriptions and be mindful of the requirements of each role.
Please note that the Artistic Director selects the MCs, and preference is given to those with previous experience.
Site Crew
Set up, maintain and pack up the festival infrastructure. Must be able to work outdoors, lift heavy items and perform tasks such as putting in star pickets and erecting marquees. A driver's license is a bonus.
Traffic Marshal
Stand or sit at a designated point outdoors and direct traffic during the event. May be asked to collect donations for festival parking. May be asked to use a radio.
Clean Team and Bin Fairies
Working outdoors, must be able to lift heavy items, including full wheelie bins. Bin Fairies interact with the public to ensure the correct items are placed in the correct bins.
Venue Dressing
Follow instructions to set up the décor around the festival venues and site. May be working indoors or outdoors. May need to carry bulky items such as storage tubs. May need to work with a ladder to hang fair lights and bunting etc.
Front of House (FOH)
Stand at the door of a venue and greet ticket holders, check wristbands, and keep count of the number of patrons in the venue at any time.
Runner
May be asked to perform any task during their shift. They may fill in where another volunteer hasn’t shown up or assist in an area struggling to keep up. RSA is useful in this role.

Please select volunteer roles you are interested in. This will give us an idea of the jobs you are prepared to do. You can add as many as you like. We will ask you to specify the order of your preferences further down the form.
- Please note that drivers must be over 25 and hold a full Driver’s License (no probationary drivers).
- You need to be confident handling a 12-seater minibus, including a luggage trailer at the beginning and end of the festival.
- There will be two early-morning and three late-night shifts to be covered by drivers.
- MCs are selected from applicants with previous experience
- Bar volunteers require an RSA certificate
We know some roles aren't as glamorous as others, but each and every one is important, and we need to fill them all!
